Partnered individuals come to therapy because they wish to improve their relationships. Relationship therapy is not limited to married or monogamous couples. Partnered individuals may be straight, LGBTQIA married, unmarried or dating, “polyculed” or any relationship orientation. Partnered therapy is most effective when involved partners are present, open-hearted, willing to be vulnerable and present for the sessions. However, if your partner is unable or unwilling to attend therapy you may proceed with individual counseling. Below are a few tools one may gain in partnered therapy:
